Union County Wolf Removed

According to the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, another livestock depredation has been confirmed in Union County on private land. They say it resulted in two dead cows, and one injured cow. The loss has been attributed to new wolves in the Cathrine Creek Wildlife Management Unit. A lethal removal permit was issued, and a male wolf was trapped and lethally removed. State officials say the wolf was trapped by USDA Wildlife Services, which was acting as an agent at the producer’s request, in the same pasture where wolves had previously depredated calves.
