Firefighters Report Progress

Firefighters are making good progress on most of the wildfires caused by recent thunderstorms in our area, although it is feared that more fires may be detected throughout the next few days as weather conditions continue to stay warm and dry. The 95-acre Rattlesnake Ridge Fire on the Walla Walla Ranger District is now 70% contained. Firefighters are strengthening containment lines and completing mop up activities further into the interior of the fire perimeter. Everyone is reminded that the current fire danger rating remains at HIGH and Public Use Restrictions involving chainsaws remain in effect.
