West Nile Virus Alert

More cases of West Nile virus have turned up in Baker County. Three pools of mosquitoes that were collected from sites in the Keating Valley tested positive for the virus, bringing the total now to eighteen mosquito pools to test positive this year. Baker County residents are advised to take precautions against mosquitos by eliminating sources of standing water, using mosquito repellants, wearing long-sleeved shirts and long pants in mosquito-infested areas, and making sure screen doors and windows are in good repair.
