Most Oregon residents who already get Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program… or “SNAP” benefits… will receive emergency allotments in December. That after the federal government approved emergency allotments every month since March 2020. The emergency benefits are temporary support, but because the federal government approved these emergency benefits for December, Oregon will also be able to issue them in January 2023. However, the emergency benefits are expected to end whenever the federal public health emergency finally ends.
