Population Decline

While Oregon’s population isn’t shrinking as much as California’s, it’s also not growing like its neighbors in the Pacific Northwest. According to numbers released by the U.S. Census Bureau last Thursday, Oregon saw a population decline of 16,164 people over Fiscal Year 2022, with a current estimate of just over 4.2 million people. The state also had more deaths than it did births, which also contributed to a population decline.
