A crash on Interstate 84 has claimed the life of a woman from Baker City. It happened on Tuesday afternoon just after 2, when Oregon State Police responded to the crash where a vehicle hit a tree near milepost 40. Police say a pickup truck operated by 43 year old Rick Williams of Baker City, towing a trailer, was eastbound on the interstate, when a tree fell and struck the passenger’s side of the vehicle. 20 year old Paula Sanchez of Baker City… a passenger in the truck… died from the impact of the tree. Williams was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries. There has been no update on his condition.
